The Tony Award-winning, Houston-based Alley Theatre company ushers in a new era under the leadership of their brand new artistic director Rob Melrose, commencing with their 2019/20 season. The group finishes their season in the Newhaus Theatre with the hotly anticipated world premiere of award-winning playwright Chisa Hutchinson's Amerikin.
Celebrating his 32nd season at the Alley, actor and director James Black helms the heavy-hitting drama, which was developed on home soil at the 2019 Alley All New Festival. The story follows Jeff, an isolated new father who's struggling to find connection. On the advice of his friend, he joins a white supremacist group in search of the community he craves. The lines of division become increasingly blurred when he takes a DNA test and his ancestry is not what he appears to be...
