You'll feel love in Houston as the Donna Summer Experience comes to the Wortham Center's Cullen Theatre this August, featuring the talents of Rainere Martin as the iconic disco queen! Direct from Las Vegas, prepare to head back to the 70s as the show takes you on a mystical journey with Donna's glittering songs stunningly recreated by 'Legends in Concert' participant Martin, backed by a live orchestra. Her performances have dazzled the public, not only because of her great resemblance to the singer, but also because of her style, her energy and a voice that allows her to interpret songs from the soul.

Expect to hear massive tunes from Summer's back catalog, including "Last Dance", "Hot Stuff", "On The Radio", "MacArthur Park" and more, as well as glittering lighting and effects.

The legend of Donna Summer

Donna Summer found fame after settling in Munich and meeting the producing and songwriting team Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte. The result saw them create 'The Hostage' and her first album, 'Lady of the Night'. In 1975 they recorded 'Love to Love You Baby', which became a huge hit in Europe and topped the Billboard club chart.

She had a score of disco hits during the 70s but when her subgenre supposedly ended, Summer changed direction, released 'She Works Hard for the Money' and became an MTV star releasing high energy hits that continued to smash the charts. Her final chart-topping single, 'To Paris with Love', was released in 2010; she died two years later of lung cancer leaving behind her an incredible legacy that inspires and thrills to this day.
